September 2025 Officer of the Month

Congratulations to Corporal Sean Melvin for being selected as Officer of the Month for September 2025! He is now a four-time recipient of this honor!

Cpl. Melvin’s commitment and dedication to the University community should be commended by all. He is highly dependable — always reporting for duty on time and ready to work. His positive attitude and team-oriented mindset reflect a deep commitment to his fellow officers and those that we serve. Cpl. Melvin routinely volunteers for extra shifts and assignments, demonstrating both initiative and a strong sense of duty. His willingness to take on complex investigations is especially commendable.

Cpl. Melvin always approaches any obstacle with skill, confidence and attention to detail, ensuring thorough and effective outcomes. He enforces University policies and city ordinances with professionalism and respect, always striving to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all. Cpl. Melvin works hard to prepare himself for any challenge by advancing his knowledge and skills through specialized training courses. He currently serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and is training to assume the duties of Evidence Custodian in the near future.

Cpl. Melvin remains a tremendous asset to this Department. As part of his reward, Cpl. Melvin is eligible for the Officer of the Year Award.
