December 2025 Officers of the Month
Congratulations to Officers James German and Donna Hadzovic for being selected as Officers of the Month for December 2025.
Officer Hadzovic joined the department in May 2024, and Officer German joined in June 2023. Since their respective arrivals, both officers have quickly distinguished themselves through a high level of reliability, a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to their professional growth. Officers German and Hadzovic consistently arrive early, are prepared to serve and frequently volunteer for additional responsibilities while on shift. Their readiness to assist wherever needed reflects their dedication to the success of the department and their fellow officers.
Both officers have embraced the UNC Charlotte community, making a strong effort to understand university operations while continually enhancing their skills. Their positive mindsets, curiosity and collaborative approach have earned the respect of their peers and supervisors alike. Always dependable and punctual, Officers German and Hadzovic remain a visible presence on campus, demonstrating their value to both the department and the university community.
Their dedication to service was clearly demonstrated in December, when they responded to a call involving a person loitering on the light rail who was making threats toward security staff. After speaking with the staff and continuing patrol, the officers located the subject and quickly detained and identified the individual, who had a lengthy criminal history.
These proactive actions, carried out with professionalism, determination and resilience, exemplify the highest standards of the UNC Charlotte Police Department. This recognition marks Officer German’s second Officer of the Month award, further highlighting his continued excellence in service. For Officer Hadzovic, this honor represents her first Officer of the Month award, recognizing her strong performance and growing impact within the department.
With this achievement, both officers are eligible for the Officer of the Year award.
