In The Community

The UNC Charlotte Police Department is comprised of dedicated officers committed to the principles of community-oriented policing. We support the development of community partnerships resulting in problem resolution both on and off campus.

We intend to:

• Facilitate collaborative efforts between police, students, faculty, staff and community partners in support and promotion of community based problem solving.
• Function as a team contributing to the creation and dissemination of information.
• Provide effective, efficient and equitable delivery of police services.
• Serve as an informational resource as it relates to community/problem oriented policing strategies for the campus community.

Special Events Security

UNC Charlotte Police & Public Safety provides security and traffic control for many university functions including commencement, major athletic tournaments and performing arts events. For information on security availability and costs please contact the special events coordinator at least two weeks prior to the event date.
